Conflict on charter not to cause House dissolution in Thailand: Chart Thai Pattana party leader
Fears of the House dissolution is rising after the country's leading coalition Democrat Party Tuesday rejected to push for the charter change.
The Democrat decision is opposite to that among the other smaller coalition parties, including the Chart Thai Pattana Party, which have agreed to go ahead with the plan to amend some parts of the country's 2007 constitution.
However, Thai News Agency quoted Chumpol as saying that he believed the conflict on the charter matter is not strong enough to pressure Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to dissolve the House of Representatives.
The Chart Thai Pattana Party will continue working with the Democrat Party as the conflict on the charter matter has not affected the relationship between his party and the Democrat Party, Chumpol said.
By next week, the other smaller coalition parties will submit a motion of the charter rewrite to the parliament, the leader of the Chart Thai Pattana Party said.
