The opposition Puea Thai Party called on the Democrats' coalition partners to show their stance on charter changes by withdrawing themselves from the government.

(...) Puea Thai spokesman Prompong Nopparit on Sunday said core members of the coalition parties told their MPs and cabinet ministers to avoid criticising Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva and the Democrat Party, as they did not want to be an opposition and were afraid that a house dissolution could occur.

The opposition spokesman urged the coalition allies to make a clear decision by taking the interests of the country and its people into consideration.

"If the coalition parties are sincere with the people and stick to its charter amendment stance, they should quit the coalition because Mr Abhisit and the Democrats have broken the promise," Mr Prompong said.

He said politicians must have their own ideology and show a clear stance without clinging to their own personal interests.
