Many British travellers are not taking full advantage of their all-inclusive breaks and are losing money, it has been claimed.

Almost two-fifths (39 per cent) of British tourists are wasting money booking all-inclusive holidays to Thailand, South Africa or other popular destinations, it has been revealed.

Research carried out by sunshine.co.uk found that many people jetting off on trips where everything is paid for up-front are losing out by not taking full advantage of the facilities on offer.

The company found that 57 per cent of those on all-inclusive breaks ventured outside of their hotel for at least one meal during their stay, while 49 per cent of respondents did not realise that facilities such as spas and gyms were part of the package.

Just over two-thirds (68 per cent) of those polled claimed that they had booked an all-inclusive trip as they were worried about running out of money during their holiday.
