Fugitive former Thai premier Thaksin Shinawatra traveled to Germany to join his daughters there, according to an update on his Twitter page. Mr. Thaksin also denied reports that he had stayed in Cambodia's Siem Reap province.

The ousted leader's daughters Pinthongta and Paethongtarn left Thailand on Wednesday for Berlin, reportedly to attend an exhibition.

"There was a report I was ordered to move out of Dubai to Siem Reap.

"That's not true," Mr. Thaksin tweeted.

The Cambodian government also denied that Mr. Thaksin had visited the country. Foreign Ministry's Spokesman Koy Kuong said that as of Saturday, Cambodia had received no information that Thaksin was planning to travel to Cambodia.

Panich Vikitsreth, assistant to the foreign minister, said the former PM was forced to leave Dubai by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government, after the UAE government told him to stop using it as a base for political activities.

“It’s still unclear which country Mr Thaksin is heading,” said Mr Panich, noting that the ousted premier was traveling on Montenegro and Nicaraguan passports.

According to Mr Panich, Mr Thaksin’s ex-wife Pojaman Na Pombejra and her son visited Hong Kong last week, while former prime minister Somchai Wongsawat, a brother-in-law of Mr Thaksin, has reportedly travelled to Cambodia.
