Thai-English government website giving security updates during Red Shirts' mass rally - Thailand - security

The Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) has launched a new website (www.capothai.org) to keep the public informed about the mass demonstrations by the red-shirted UDD supporters.

The security-related announcements are being posted in both Thai and English languages.

Meanwhile, at the premises of the 11th Infantry Regiment compound on Phahon Yothin Road, in Bangkok, where the Thai government's peace-keeping centre is headquartered, the situation was reported to be normal.

Loudspeakers have been installed at the gates of the compound, and announcements are being made from time to time telling the public not to panic when seeing a large number of troops and not to leave their homes unless necessary.
