Buddhist monks join Red Shirt anti-government rally [Photos]

Hundreds of Buddhist monks from northern and northeastern Thailand arrived in Bangkok on Sunday to attend the mass demonstration of the United Front for Democracy against Dictatorship (UDD). The monks collected alms, chanted prayers for the demonstrators and pleaded for the Thai government not to use force against the red-shirted protesters. A group of monks spoke on the anti-government stage, saying they were not involved in politics.
