Buddhist monks slam Thai movie for “inappropriate images” - Thailand - entertainment - Buddhism - movie


Monks and other Buddhist groups have expressed displeasure that Thailand's movie theaters are showing the 2007 film "Nak Prok" (The Shadow of the Naga).



Critics say the movie, which had been banned under no-longer-in-effect film laws, shows “inappropriate images” and is meant to make Buddhism look bad.

The offensive images include a scene, in which men dressed as monks are shown touching women (see below), which is forbidden by the religion.

"Nak Prok" is an action movie about men who set out to rob a temple.

The film is available to audiences aged 18 and older.
