Six events planned to boost Thailand tourism in second half - Thailand - Business - tourism - event


The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) plans to organise at least six major events in the second half of the year to boost domestic and international tourism.



The events in the pipeline are Amazing Thailand Grand Sale, World Sport Destination Expo, HM the King's Seventh Cycle Birthday Anniversary, Royal Flora Ratchaphruek, Thailand: Asia Golf Hub, and the Stopover Bangkok Campaign.

The authority said Amazing Thailand Grand Sale would start next Wednesday and run until August 15. More than 15,000 shops and restaurants throughout the counฌtry will offer discounts of up to 80 per cent.

The event hopes to lure tourists from Southeast Asia, Japan and China back to Thailand.

The country also plans to host for the first time World Sport Destination Expo from September 29 to October 2, with 1,200 parฌticipants from all over the world expected to join the event.

TAT will also join the celebrations of HM the King's Seventh Cycle Birthday Anniversary in December, which will help boost travel in the country by Thais.

From November 9 to February 15, the agency will hold Royal Flora Ratchaphruek in Chiang Mai province, which should also boost the domestic travel market.

It is also scheduled to hold Thailand: Asia Golf Hub in Pattaya from October 31 to November 6.

TAT is joining hands with the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration to introduce the Stopover Bangkok camฌpaign from today until October 31.
