Phuket property - The definitive buyer's guide - new 2011 edition
If you are thinking of buying property in Phuket, Thailand you will probably be interested in this free guide.
‘The Definitive Guide to buying property in Phuket’ tells you everything you need to know from a buyer’s point of view - warts and all.
This new 2011 edition has been totally revised and updated.
It was written by Rebecca Smith who has lived and worked in Phuket since 2004. And it’s not the same old stuff you’d expect from most real estate agents and property developers.
You’ll find Rebecca’s engaging, no-nonsense style a refreshing change from the usual claptrap you come across when you are looking for a property. She cuts through all the hype and gives you the hard facts in plain, simple language.
The 2011 edition includes a 7-page directory of useful contacts in Phuket and a 38-point checklist you can use when you buy your property in Phuket.
Inside Rebecca tells you:
• Which land titles are really not land titles but essentially rip-offs
• The best areas for investment (and the ones where you’ll get hung out to dry)
• How you can own a freehold property in your own name without lots of needless hassle
• Some of the dirty tricks estate agents and developers will try to play on you
• And much more - some might shock you, but others will show you simple ways to get far more for your money
I asked Rebecca about her reasons for writing the guide:
“The real estate business in Thailand is largely unregulated. So it is vital that overseas buyers understand what they are doing before they commit. When I wrote this guide I tried to make things easy to understand whilst giving people all the information they need to protect themselves.
Hardly a day goes by without someone calling me after they’ve bought asking if I can help with their problems. But in a foreign country with different laws and rules it is very easy to caught out. Especially if you are dealing with someone who is only interested in making the sale - not your security and what you want from your property. I hope this guide will re-dress the balance a little and help people to avoid these mistakes in the future.”
