Thai Entrepreneur Gives $22-Million to Texas College - USA - education


Three schools at the University of North Texas will benefit from a $22-million gift from a Thai alumnus, the Fort Worth Star Telegram and the Houston Chronicle write.



The gift from Charn Uswachoke is the largest in the Denton, Texas, university’s history. Mr. Uswachoke earned his master’s degree in business administration from North Texas in 1973 before returning to his native Thailand, where he is a property developer.

The university’s colleges of music, engineering, and business will receive the money to support endowed professorships, scholarships, and a center for the study of energy-efficient materials, among other uses.
