Thailands worst flooding in 50 years strands elephants [PHOTO] - Thailand - flood - elephant - photo

As many as fifteen elephants are stranded on top of Ayutthaya’s Royal Elephant Kraal from the floods as other elephants are being seen on the streets in low-lying floodwaters eating from trees and grass from the streets.

“If proper help does not come soon, the mothers and babies are in grave danger,” said Ewa Narkiewicz, a communications director for a group named Elephantstay, a nonprofit agency that cares for retired elephants.
