Developers aiming to be better prepared for future floods

All low-rise projects affected by the floods experienced no sales, those in areas not affected by the floods experienced normal or below normal sales due to the slump in the market. Demand for housing is expected to move to areas not affected by the floods. Developers are wary of this shift and certain projects located within flood affected areas are being delayed so flood-protection systems can be installed.

Developers will also make a small hill at an entrance that will function as a barrier while at the same time strengthening fences that will help prevent water flowing above and beneath ground level.
