Nowadays, music on-the-go has turned fully digital (except the FM radio for still some short time). Moreover, storage is rendered every day easier than yesterday through always smaller supports that stay mostly self compatible...

London based South Bank University supports the concept presented by two of its students: the FootLume. This evolved roofmat is equipped with sensors and built-in lighting devices. It is aimed to provide a smooth light around and ahead of your path to guide you when you walk in the dark (after a wake up at night for example). The concept is now in need of an industrial & marketing investor.

This first experience ever was performed -like often- by a French researcher, Edouard-Léon Scott de Martinville. But it could not be exploited before long -like often with french discoveries-, in fact before today. The invention was called phonautograph, a term also used in Jules Verne novels to describe future communication tools described in his stories.
