For almost a century, the Thai resort region of Hua Hin and Cha Am has attracted the country's most noble residents — for its white-sand beaches, for its mountainous backdrop, for its proximity to Bangkok, the nation's capital.

Patravadi Theatre presents the "Fringe Festival 2010 @ Hua Hin" to mark a new stage of performing arts in Thailand. The festival will inaugurate the new art complex Vic Hua Hin as over 10 exciting performances and many other activities will be taking place at the venue over five weekends starting from Jan 22 until Feb 20.

InterContinental Hotels & Resorts will open a new resort in Thailand on December 1, 2009. The InterContinental Hua Hin Resort will feature 119 rooms, of which ten deluxe rooms have direct pool access. According to a report in asiatraveltips.com, the resort’s top-end accommodation will include eleven deluxe ocean-view suites and six executive suites. There will be three beachfront villas with private pools and one presidential suite will provide the highest level of luxury. The presidential suite can also cater as a distinctive and private wedding chapel.

The Thai Air Force has set up a special taskforce at the Hua Hin Airport to assist the security operations during the 15th ASEAN Summit and Related Summits, which are to be held from Oct. 21 to 25 in the neighboring resort towns of Hua Hin and Cha-am, Thai media reported Monday.

Thailand's Internal Security Operations Command (ISOC) on Friday approved a security plan for the upcoming summit of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) with 18,000 personnel to be deployed to maintain order at and around the summit venues in the Thai seaside resorts of Cha-am and Hua Hin.
