In Thailand, it is typical for people to greet one another with a wai but it is another story if it is regularly visible at a major organisation. "When I first started here in 1981, my boss told me that as a junior I should wai my seniors every time I meet them. The gesture has been our norm and embedded in our service culture," says Serirat Prasutanond, president of Airports of Thailand Plc (AoT).
